Negative emissions
Negative CO2 emissions are when CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and stored long-term (also called binding back of emissions). There are various negative emission technologies based either on biological (e.g. reforestation) or technical approaches (e.g. mechanical CO2 air filtration and storage (DACCS)).
